London 2012 – 1 Year to go!

Events and ceremonies were held in London yesterday to mark the final countdown to next years Olympic Games which will be held in the capital.

Trafalgar Square was filled with people to witness the unveiling of the 2012 medals. The medals which are thought to be the largest ever produced for the modern games.

British olympic hopeful, Tom Daley took the inaugural dive at the multi-million pound Aquatic Centre in Stratford.

What I took away from watching the events on TV was that London and the country are excited for 2012 despite what some media outlets may say. We should be proud that we are running ahead of schedule and look set to give the athletes of the world a great olympics. I feel it is evident that the majority of British people will be behind the games in 2012 and it will be another great excuse for us to celebrate and be proud.
