It’s hard to believe but yesterday was the 10th anniversary of Lisa “Left Eye Lopes’ death.
The member of US group TLC died in a car accident on 25th April 2002 aged just 30.
I had been a big TLC fan and their album “Fanmail” was practically the soundtrack to my late teenage years. I listened to it over and over.
I remember watching MTV on the day she died and being shocked at the news. She had lived a fast, crazy life and had died so young.
The remaining members of TLC, T-Boz and Chilli have announced they are going to tour the US using a screen version of Left Eye. It will be a great tribute to her and will give the fans a unique opportunity to witness their brilliance one last time.
Her spiritual motto which she used for the “Lisa Lopes Foundation” was “Energy never dies, it just transforms”. Left Eye’s energy lives on through her foundation and her music.
Rest in peace Left Eye, we miss you.
